“I Believe Music Is Life for Anyone Who Can Feel It!”

Stabbingback is a dual-genre band, what that means is this; we are more than just a metal band, we also play an acoustic style of music. Our goal is to release albums in tandem – One metal, one acoustic. The acoustic album is much more than adapted metal songs with a softer approach, it is a complete set of songs written specifically to be acoustic, reflecting on more intimate and emotive personal experiences. Focusing on inner anguish, the lyrics deal with emotional burnout, problematic relationships, and overall – coping with one’s feelings. It is easy to relate to on a personal level, because life is not perfect and we are all human, we are all prone to being hurt.

On the other hand, the metal music is sullen, powerful and condemning, holding modern society in contempt. With songs touching on the subject of personal vengeance, a breakdown of self-control, and society bringing on it’s own demise, the songs are filled with passion and animosity, driven by aggressive guitar riffs and powerful vocal work. The music style is reminiscent of a classic metal sound, reaching back to influences from the 90’s such as Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica, but fusing it with a more modern style of vocals, keeping it powerful yet still maintaining a melodic element, giving a style that is unique to Stabbingback.

We realize that some may like only the metal, and that others may only like the acoustic, but we feel confident the majority will enjoy both styles. While the albums are seperate, they will always share a common distinction; the music is always pained and personal, and coming from the heart. Our live shows will be kept seperate as well – We will not play any of our acoustic songs in a metal set, and vice versa. However, when traveling to various locations, we will be sure to play a set of both genres, giving our fans a chance to hear what they want to hear. With this being said… enjoy the music!
